Funerals

FuneralIf you have experienced the loss of a loved one, our heartfelt sympathy is with you and your family. The ministry of the First United Methodist Church of Blairstown is committed to helping you in any way possible during this difficult time.

For immediate Pastoral Care and assistance please call the church office at 908-362-6693.

Our Sanctuary is available for funerals. If you desire, the service can also be conducted at the funeral home. The Sanctuary has been used for funeral services of all sizes, and was comfortable even with a small number in attendance. The church will provide its physical facilities and pastoral services without charge to the family.

Our church can arrange an organist for the funeral service. The services of any additional musicians, soloist, instrumentalist, etc. will be discussed as you plan the service with the Pastor.

The church provides a worship bulletin. The design and order will be discussed during your meeting with the Pastor. Please note: the funeral home will offer a memorial announcement; this does not contain the order of the Worship Service.

Upon request the church’s United Methodist Women will help to serve a meal for the immediate and out of town family following the service. It is the responsibility of the family to arrange for the food.
