REV. DAVID TILLISCH, PASTOR
Pastor Dave is a life-long New Jersey resident, who grew up in rural Hunterdon County. After successful careers in retail sales management, computer programming, and business analysis, he answered God’s calling to pastoral ministry in the local church. Pastor Dave is passionate about connecting people of all ages with life-giving message of Jesus Christ and positively impacting the church’s communities by building relationships and reaching out with Christ’s mercy and love.
Pastor Dave holds a Masters of Divinity from Drew Theological School, and is commissioned as a provisional elder in the United Methodist Church. Before coming to Blairstown in July, 2014, he previously served as pastor of the Delaware Valley and Frankford Plains United Methodist Churches.
CATH KANEN, CHURCH SECRETARY
Cath makes her home in Long Valley, New Jersey and is a life-long member of Drakestown UMC. She has served her congregation at Drakestown as Lay Leader and Church Council Chair, along with participating in many other ministries. She lives on Schooley’s Mountain with her husband, two children, her sister, and her niece in a very active and noisy household. She is blessed to have two sisters who are both pastors in the Skylands District of the United Methodist Church, but she is content to work behind the scenes.
BARBARA CORNWELL, CHURCH TREASURER
Barbara is a native of Blairstown, and grew up in our faith community. She and her husband, Lee, have a daughter who lives in Tennessee with her family.
JOHN PECCARELLI, MUSIC MINISTER
John grew up in Nutley, New Jersey and began to study piano at a young age. By the time he completed high school, he had added guitar, violin, trumpet, tuba, mandolin and voice to his musical pursuits. He attended Montclair State University, where he received Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Education. He began his career as a music teacher for Abundant Life Academy. John has spent the past twenty two years teaching in the Edison Township school district, where he has taught both vocal and instrumental music as well as composition. He is also a member of the NJ Music Educator’s Association and serves as a judge for their annual Young Composer’s Competition.
At the age of 21, John came to the Lord and has been involved with music ministry for over 25 years. He has written praise songs that have been performed and heard both locally and abroad. John is excited to be working with the worship team here at FUMC as they develop and grow as a ministry to our God and the body of Christ, His church
