SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:Last Friday\, the members of our Red Bird Mission team returned from their trip to Beverly\, Kentucky. In the 7 days that they were gone much was accomplished: 2 houses received new roofs\, a house was painted and received a new stoop\, another home received a wheelchair ramp\, new gutters\, and a remodeled bathroom\, and nearly 3 faculty apartments were prepared to receive new tenants in the fall. Not bad for a group of 42 amateurs from PA\, NY\, & NJ ranging in age from 13 to 70+! \nThe work that we did wasn’t just about the tasks that were completed\, though. Lives were changed. People’s sense of dignity was changed. People’s awareness of God’s presence was increased. People’s connections to others on the Way were made closer. All because individuals who were rooted and grounded in the love of Christ came together and committed themselves to do the work of God in the world. \nThis Sunday we will continue our journey through Paul’s letter to the Ephesians. In his words to his followers\, Paul encourages them to live a life worthy of the calling to which they’ve been called. What does that life look like to you? \nAs we consider Paul’s words\, we will hear from our missionaries about their adventure and learn what it means to them to live in a community of people who are dedicated to worshipping God and serving in the name of Jesus the Christ. In their stories\, we may just find inspiration for what it means to be the Body of Christ living in our community today. \nSet some time aside to join us for worship this week as we come before the Lord with praise in our hearts and hear St. Paul’s call to Live a Life Worthy. You can join us live in our sanctuary or online on Sunday at 10 a.m.\, or stream our worship service at the time that works best for you. \nIn-Person and Online Worship is available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, we ask if you are attending in person\, to please wear a mask and follow CDC guidelines. If you do not feel well\, and have symptoms related to COVID-19 or were possibly exposed\, we ask that you attend church through our multiple online worship platforms. \nIn-Person: 10 Stillwater Road\, Blairstown\, NJ \nOnline: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Facebook Live\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Youtube

SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:How many of you have seen the game show\, “To Tell the Truth”? For those who haven’t seen it\, or haven’t seen it recently\, three people try to portray themselves a someone\, with only one of them being the actual person. A panel of 4 contestants are then given the opportunity to ask the people questions to determine who is telling the truth\, and who is just sharing a good story. \nWhile this makes for a fun filled half hour on television\, it’s no fun to live in a world that is filled with so many people making false claims and telling out and out lies. We rely on people being honest with us and detest when people take advantage of us by deceiving us. \nThis Sunday\, as we continue our look at the book of Ephesians\, we come to a section that I like to call “the house rules of Christian community.” These house rules help us create a community where everyone feels supported and trust is built – a place where all of us can flourish in our life and in our faith. \nSet some time aside to join us for worship this week as we come before the Lord with praise in our hearts and hear St. Paul’s call to create a community where Speaking Truth is the norm among other important relationship skills. You can join us live in our sanctuary or online on Sunday at 10 a.m.\, or stream our worship service at the time that works best for you. \n  \n  \nIn-Person and Online Worship is available. SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever received a gift that you weren’t expecting? It’s so nice that you wonder how you might thank them! You might want to give them something back in return or find a way to adequately show your gratitude! This week as part of our series on “Gearing Up For Life” we look at what it means to give thanks to God for each one of our blessings and humble ourselves in the sight of the Lord\, because giving thanks is a crucial component of keeping us grounded in our actions and behaviors and readying us for the problems we face as a Body of Christ. \nIn Ephesians\, Paul examines how to incorporate this giving thanks in our faith to our everyday lives\, and to work so our lives can be encouraged and invigorated by our faith in the teachings of Jesus despite living in a broken world in his time. The same can apply for our calling on this day as faithful disciples. For our service this week\, think about how you can shift the mindset from what you don’t have\, to what God has already blessed us with! Think about how this thankfulness can be brought out into this broken world we might be living in today to heal\, to humble\, and to love. \nIn-Person and Online Worship is available. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic\, we ask if you are attending in-person\, to please wear a mask and follow CDC guidelines. If you do not feel well\, and have symptoms related to COVID-19 or were possibly exposed\, we ask that you attend church through our multiple online worship platforms. \nIn-Person: 10 Stillwater Road\, Blairstown\, NJ \nOnline: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Facebook Live\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Youtube

SUMMARY:Sunday Worship
DESCRIPTION:Worship starts at 10 am. \n\n\n\n\n\nAre you old enough to remember the famous movie critics: Siskel and Eibert – if you wanted to know their take on a film\, all you had to do was look for “ TWO THUMBS UP!” \nThis week\, James goes against our cultural grain by giving only “one thumb up” to going faster\, while giving “two thumbs up’ to going slower! \nIn our fast paced world\, where we want everything yesterday\, and speed means better\, let’s see where James is going with this!!! \nSet some time aside to join us for worship this week as we come before the Lord with praise in our hearts and hear from the author of James about the importance of slowing down\, and avoiding anger. You can join us live in our sanctuary or online on Sunday at 10 a.m.\, or stream our worship service at the time that works best for you. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Facebook Live\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWorship on Youtube\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis week it is our joy to welcome Rev. He and his wife Lori\, and two children live in Sparta with his menagerie that includes a dog\, two cats\, a rabbit\, and a lizard. Please be sure to extend a warm Blairstown UMC welcome! \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nIn-Person and Online Worship is available.
