How many of you have seen the game show, “To Tell the Truth”? For those who haven’t seen it, or haven’t seen it recently, three people try to portray themselves a someone, with only one of them being the actual person. A panel of 4 contestants are then given the opportunity to ask the people questions to determine who is telling the truth, and who is just sharing a good story. While this makes for a fun filled half hour on television, it’s no fun to live in a world that is filled with so many people making false claims and telling out and out lies. We rely on people being honest with us and detest when people take advantage of us by deceiving us. This Sunday, as we continue our look at the book of Ephesians, we come to a section that I like to call “the house rules of Christian community.” These house rules help us create a community where everyone feels supported and trust is built – a place where all of us can flourish in our life and in our faith. Set some time aside to join us for worship this week as we come before the Lord with praise in our hearts and hear St. Paul’s call to create a community where Speaking Truth is the norm among other important relationship skills. You can join us live in our sanctuary or online on Sunday at 10 a.m., or stream our worship service at the time that works best for you. |
