When was the last time something stopped you in your tracks and made you say, “WOW, that’s awesome!”? What does it take for you to sit up straight and take notice of something miraculous around you?

I have a number of connections on social media who are photographers. What they all have in common is the ability to discover miraculous beauty in common places and focus our attention on it. For instance, one such photographer loves to capture the beauty in birds that often fly by without our notice. Another has an eye for plants and flowers. And another has an eye for the beauty in humanity’s communities and buildings.

Quite frankly, we don’t have to look far to be amazed. As I type this message, I am reminded of the miracle that is my body and the ability to take my thoughts and translate them into words on this email by combining the ability to control the movement of my fingers with the keyboard on my computer. WOW God!

This Sunday, Eric Drew will lead us as we kick of a new sermon series that will take us through the story of our beginnings as told in the books of the Hebrew Testament. And what better way to start that with the book that begins with these familiar words, “In the beginning…”

Set some time aside to join us for worship this week as we come together to worship the Lord with Awe and Wonder in our hearts for the miracles that are creation and life. You can join us live in our sanctuary or online on Sunday at 10 a.m., or stream our worship service at the time that works best for you.
