The season of Lent begins this Wednesday with the observance of Ash Wednesday. Ash Wednesday is in many ways a reality check that affirms our mortality and need for God. With this sense of reality in place in our minds, the season of Lent becomes an opportunity to draw closer to God and deeper in the practices of our faith.
We will offer three opportunities to receive ashes. From 6-8a, Pastor Dave will be at the Dunkin’ on Hope Road by exit 12 offering “Ashes to Go”. At 12p we will offer a joint traditional worship service in our sanctuary. And at 7p we will participate in the joint service at the Presbyterian Church on Main St. Both services will be shared online.
For those unable to join us in person, we invite you to join us online with a candle, and small amount of dirt that can represent “dust to dust”.
