In 1952, people learned a new dance and discovered a new relationship with the rain after Gene Kelly famously showed us that it was indeed possible to sing (and dance) in the rain. Actually, the song was written in 1929, but it was Kelly’s rendition that helped it stick in our hearts for over half a century. How is it that some people are able to have a song in their hearts when the circumstances around them are less than ideal? For many, it is love: the love of another person, the love of life, the love of God; and for others, it is the knowledge of an event so wonderful that nothing can diminish their joy. This Easter Sunday, and throughout the season of Eastertide that follows, we will focus on just such an event and the way it empowers us, as Christians, to dance in joy! We hope that you’ll take time to join us for worship as we celebrate the resurrection of Jesus the Christ with 4 special services, which will be open to people to join us in person and online. |
