As spring blossoms and takes root, United Methodists from across GNJ will gather as districts, rekindling a tradition that in GNJ has laid dormant for more than 20 years—the District Conference.
The truth is excellent ministry is contextual. It always has a zip code. The District Conference is more than just a meeting; it’s a celebration of the unique ministries of each district in our Annual Conference.
In addition to sharing about the ministry of the district, attendees will also celebrate new Lay Servants, candidates for ministry, ordinands, and retirees, and have the chance to review and ask questions about the Annual Conference Budget.
It’s also a wonderful opportunity to be together and reconnect with friends and church family, both old and new. It is expected that all appointed clergy, lay members to the Annual Conference, district committee chairpersons, and one or more delegates from each pastoral charge shall attend District Conference. Church committee chairpersons, retired clergy, and other guests are welcome to join the party!
Don’t miss this event (especially if you are required to be there) it will be one part worship service, one part holy conferencing, and one part family reunion.
