Have you ever found yourself in a situation that you initially thought you could handle on your own, but later came to realize that you couldn’t? We’ve all been there. Whether it’s tacking a home improvement project, taking on extra responsibilities at work, dealing with a situation at home, handling your own health, etc., we all try our best to deal with it until we can’t.

So what’s a person to do? When do you realize that you’ve bitten more than you can chew? Gotten in over your head? How do you know when to call for help?

Unfortunately, there’s something in the human makeup that makes us believe that we should try to handle everything on our own and not “burden” anyone with our problems. Somehow we’ve gotten it into our heads that God created us to be self sufficient. But the reality is that there are many things in life that we were not designed to handle by ourselves.

This Sunday, as we continue to explore the foundational stories of our faith in Genesis, we’ll come to understand that when it comes to our salvation, we’re In Over Our Heads. With that realization in hand, we’ll also discover the liberating power that comes from seeking the help that God offers us in Jesus the Christ. We hope that you will make time to be present with us in worship at 10 a.m. online or in-person.
