Have you ever tried to describe something that was indescribable? For instance, how do you describe love? How do you describe awe? How do you describe God?
Perhaps it was easier for the ancient Israelites to describe God, for that’s the only experience they knew of God. But after Jesus came to dwell among them, and Jesus send the Advocate to be with them, suddenly everything changed. Now they needed to figure out how to describe the experience of a loving God that they experienced as a heavenly parent, a loving teacher and rabbi, and a spiritual presence – all separate and yet all one.
Their answer lies in something we call the trinity – a way of describing the unity and diversity of one God. Not only does this help us to understand God better, it helps expand the ways we relate to God and lead our lives of faith.
Join us for worship this Sunday at 10 in our sanctuary or online, as our Lay Leader, Mike Tironi, leads us in exploring the Unity and Diversity of God through the trinity. We hope to see you there!
