What makes a person wealthy? For many, the answer is simply money, and that is certainly a part of it. But wealth is more than money – wealth is about power, ability, connections, knowledge, access to opportunities – all the things that help a person to prosper.
So, now that we understand a little more about wealth, why would Jesus describe it as “dishonest”? And if the wealth we know of is dishonest, then what exactly is “honest” wealth?
This Sunday at 10:00a, as we celebrate Back to Church Sunday, I invite you to join us for worship as we hear a rather confounding tale about a dishonest manager who has finally learned to use dishonest wealth to make a home for himself in a, well, dishonest way … and is PRAISED for it! I hope to see you there!
