How many of you have ever been perplexed or confused by God? I know I have. In fact, I think I’ve come to a place in my life where whenever I think I have my faith figured out, I know that I don’t, because God’s going to reveal something new to me, or open my eyes to a complexity that I never thought existed.
Take for example Simon Peter. Jesus has just taken his disciples to the local seat of Roman power and asked his followers who they understand him to me. Peter rightly identifies Jesus as the Messiah, and just when he starts feeling good about himself and tries to do something nice for Jesus, Jesus lets him know that he still has much to learn – especially when it comes to understanding just how this all powerful savior will exert his power.
