Growing Deeper in Faith

Before you can run, you need to learn to walk. This is true in life, and this is true in your journey of faith. Before you can love God and serve God, you need to know God.

People get to know God through individual and communal practices. Individual practices include reading, meditating and studying the scriptures, prayer, fasting, regularly attending worship, healthy living, and sharing our faith with others. Communal practices include sharing in the sacraments, engaging in relationships that encourage each other’s faith, and Bible study.

Our church offers a number of opportunities to grow in your faith!

Supporting Each Other

Our faith is not intended to be a solitary activity. God created us for community with one another to work together, serve together, and grow together. Proverbs 27:17 tells us

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

Our church offers a number of ways to connect people of all ages with others to share your faith journey: faith conversation Bible Studies, men’s and women’s groups, children’s Sunday school, and youth group.

Milestones in Your Journey

Committing to your faith journey helps you to keep heading in the direction you intend to go. Baptism is your way of committing to the journey. This can happen as a child when parents bring their children into the faith, or as an adult, when you are ready to make your own commitment.

Confirmation and membership are both ways that adults and teens can make their own decision to commit to be a part of our church as they journey in faith. In both cases, the members of the congregation make a promise to share their faith with you and encourage you along the way.
