The church council is pleased to announce that our sanctuary will reopen for in-person worship beginning with our Ash Wednesday Service on February 17 at 7 p.m. This is being done in response to the statewide average infection rates declining below the levels that they were at in November when the decision was made to suspend in-person worship. As was the case with our previous resumption of in-person worship, we will be following our reopening guidelines that were adopted by the church council. Attendees are required to wear masks while in the building and maintain a safe social distance. The courtyard and kitchen doors will be open and temperatures will be checked as people enter. People will be asked to proceed to the sanctuary where they will be asked to sit in designated areas indicated by the ushers. During the service, we ask that congregational singing and responses be kept at a minimum. When communion is celebrated, the elements will be given to you in a sealed container as you enter the sanctuary. Offering plates will not be passed. Instead, we ask you to donate to the church online or place your offering in the box at the back of the sanctuary. Following the worship service, worshippers are asked to return to their cars using the same entrances and to keep congregating to a minimum. As always, our goal is to create an environment that is safe for people in all ways, in keeping with Jesus’ command to love our neighbors as our selves. We are all in this together and are depending on each other to keep us well. If you are not feeling well, have traveled out of the state, or have been exposed to someone with symptoms, we ask that you join us for worship online until the recommended quarantine time has passed. You can read more about our reopening guidelines using the link below. We will continue to monitor the infection rates in our state on a week by week basis and update you if there are any changes of plans. We look forward to worshiping with you in person and online! |
