This summer one of our youth members, Alexa Tironi, will be working as a journalism intern for The Borgen Project, a nonprofit that addresses global health and poverty through political activism. Members of The Borgen Project meet with over 90% of Congress to discuss legislation that will aid those suffering across the world, while complementing U.S. investments.
Over the next 12 weeks Alexa will be writing weekly articles and sharing information with our congregation about poverty in our world. She will also be hosting a fundraising campaign with a goal of $500+. After hearing about the work that she’ll be doing, our Church Council pledged $500 towards her efforts.
