What does Easter mean to you? What are you looking forward to this Sunday? For some, it’s a fun time to hunt for colorful eggs filled with goodies! For others, it’s the visit from the Easter Bunny. Many of you will be looking forward to gatherings with family and friends that you haven’t seen since the pandemic began and enjoying ham, lamb, or another favorite dish. And some of you may even be looking forward to gathering in church with friends and family and singing “hallelujah!” But why do we do what we do?
Easter is a celebration of an event that took place over 2,000 years ago. A criminal execution with a mysterious disappearance and reappearance of sorts. And yet of all of the unsolved mysteries that have come and gone from our consciousness, this one remains part of our conversation. Why do you suppose that is? Why does it still matter?
This Sunday, I hope that you will join us for our Easter worship services at 6:30a and 10:00a as we celebrate the why of Jesus’ Resurrection and proclaim with joy that “He Is Risen, He Is Risen Indeed”. Our 6:30 worship will take place at the White Lake Natural Resource Center on Stillwater Road, and our 10:00 service will take place in our sanctuary. Both services will be streamed online.
