Remember those Mad Libs books we played with as kids? Let’s try one:

“If __________ing was easy, everyone would do it!”

You could probably put every profession under the sun in that blank, for we all know that every job is challenging in its own way. From flying to nursing,; from welding to pastoring; from earning a degree to playing soccer, everything we do has challenges.

So why do we do them? For one, despite the challenges, there is great joy, and hopefully, there is also great passion for the work and hope for the fruit of our labors.

So, what about “following Jesus” or “living our faith?” Would they be appropriate answers as well? The Apostle Paul certainly didn’t have an easy journey of faith. Even his conversion took a great deal of effort. So, why did he continue on his journey?

This Sunday, as we conclude our journey in the light of resurrection in this season of Eastertide, we’ll consider the ways that the Resurrection of Christ continues to lead us in rising up, whatever the hardships. We pray that you’ll make time to be present with us in person or online as we gather for worship in our sanctuary at 10 a.m.
